Vote for Our 2017-18 Funding Priorities

Vote for Our 2017/2018 Funding Priorities!

Each year, The Phoenix Parks Foundation identifies 2-3 projects or programs to serve as our primary funding priority for the year.  This current season includes the Phoenix Parks Stewards Program, Trail Maintenance and the Mini Grant Program.

We Want to Hear From YOU!
Please take a moment to cast your vote for the TOP 3 projects or programs that you believe should be the funding priorities for The Phoenix Parks Foundation’s upcoming year. The options include:

Mini Grant Program
Mini Grant program as executed in 2016 with a call for applications from City of Phoenix residents or City of Phoenix Parks staff.  Eligible candidates would include any park or program owned, managed or operated by the City of Phoenix or a partner non-profit. Based on budget and board approval, this program could continue at the level of $10,000 awarded or an increased amount with a grant limit of $2500 per request/application.

Creation of an Endowment Fund
Opportunity to identify a long-term goal and begin investment.

Parks & Recreation Volunteer Programs
The Board may choose a “ General Support of Volunteer Programs” or choose to participate in a specific area/program. The Parks Steward Volunteer Program is the main volunteer program for the City of Phoenix which includes general care and maintenance of many preserves and parks. There are additional areas for citizens to volunteer including: (Clickable links below for more Info)

Natural Resources (incl. trails, park safety, security)
This presents an opportunity to work with staff to develop measures, tools, resources, information, etc. that would help to protect hikers from extreme hot weather conditions.

Teen Programs
A priority to commit funds towards programs within the city of Phoenix that assist Phoenix Teenagers. The PHXTeens program provides an opportunity for disengaged teens to connect with their community and realize their fullest potential with participation in the programs such as teen trips, workshops, cultural learning experiences, job training and more.
